Privacy Policy

Overview

Nok is a local-first earnings tracker for macOS and iOS. If you opt in, active and completed work sessions, salary settings, privacy and notification choices, and customization selections sync through your private iCloud database.

Nok does not require a Nok account, does not operate its own app-data cloud service, and does not sell personal information.

Data Stored on Your Device

Nok stores your salary settings, preferences, active session, break records, completed sessions, and customization choices locally on your device. This information is used to calculate and display your live earnings, work history, menu bar state, Focus automation state, and Live Activity state.

Optional sync uses Apple's CloudKit and the iCloud account signed into your device. Mac-specific launch and Dock settings, iCloud opt-in, and onboarding state remain device-local. Disabling sync keeps merged local data; deleting Nok data from iCloud is a separate action.

Data Nok Collects

Nok does not collect personal data from the app, does not use third-party analytics, does not show ads, and does not track you across apps or websites.

Notifications, Focus, and Live Activities

If you enable notifications, Focus automation, or Live Activities, Nok uses Apple system features on your device to show work-session state and reminders. These features do not require Nok to send your salary or session history to a Nok server.

Purchases

Nok Pro purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. Apple may process purchase, payment, tax, and account information according to Apple's own privacy policy. Nok receives StoreKit transaction status from Apple so the app can unlock Pro features.

Support

If you contact support at [email protected], the message will include the information you choose to send, such as your email address, device details, screenshots, or diagnostic notes. That information is used only to respond to your request.

Please do not include sensitive salary details in a support email unless you want that information used to investigate your issue.

Retention and Deletion

Local app data remains until you delete sessions, reset app data where available, or uninstall the app. Synced Nok data remains in iCloud until you use “Delete Nok data from iCloud” or manage it through Apple. Support emails are retained only as long as needed.

Children

Nok is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

International Use

If you contact support, your email may be processed in the country where the developer or email provider operates. Synced Nok data leaves the device only when you enable private iCloud sync or choose to share it.

Changes

This policy may be updated when Nok's behavior changes or when App Store requirements change. The latest version will remain available at this URL.
